It’s a new year and we want to help you stick to your New Year’s resolutions for 2018. Here are some simple steps you can take to make sure you stick to your goal and crush it!
Take baby steps. This will help you stay the course and reach your ultimate goal. Making smaller behavioral changes to create healthier impacts on your life are simply more sustainable than drastic lifestyle shifts. For example, instead of reaching for that chocolate cake after dinner, try to substitute it with fruit or a yogurt.
Ask for Support
We all need extra help from time to time. Surrounding ourselves with supportive and positive people in our lives is important when entering a new journey or adventure in our lives. Having a strong support system can help you when you are feeling overwhelmed or feel as if are not hitting your goals as you would like. This support group can give you ideas, advice, and motivation to help you work through your struggles and get re-focused on your goals.
Don’t Be So Hard On Yourself
We are all human right? And we all make mistakes – we are not perfect (how boring if we all were perfect and the same). If you slip up on your diet, withdraw some money from your savings account, or miss a day at the gym please remember that it is okay. Everyone has their ups and downs, it is how you rebound from these moments that truly matter and change behavior overtime.
Goals are Year Round
Starting a goal on January 1st is a great way to start the year and motivate yourself to reach those goals (new year new you!), however, do not feel as if you need to place a timestamp on when these goals need to be finished. You may start in January but remember there are no rules that say you must complete your goals in 12 months time.
