Make Sure That Company Car has some California Auto Insurance!

Did you know that any vehicles used for your business can be covered with their own Business Auto Policy (BAP) and do not have to be covered on your personal California Auto Insurance?  Vehicles are vital to a number of businesses.  If you do any of the following, be sure to check out available BAPs: product or food delivery; transporting people for short or long distances; transporting product to and from retailers or wholesalers; picking up items for cleaning, repair, storage, etc.

A BAP usually offers the following coverage: liability (injuries to others or their property), comprehensive (loss from anything except collision), collision, towing and labor, and rental vehicle coverage.

Be careful, however because there are certain things that BAPs will not cover: damage/injury that you expected or intended to happen while using the vehicle; responsibility for the damage you assume under a contract; any losses that should be/are handled by Workers Comp, Disability, or Unemployment; bodily harm to an employee caused by any other employees; any loss while performing in a race, stunt, or demolition.

You wouldn’t drive around in your personal car without insurance; do the same with your work vehicle, too!
