Earthquake Insurance, Not Exactly Covered By Your California Homeowners Insurance

2/2/2012 12:00:00 AM
If you’re a resident of California, you probably know that more earthquakes occur in California than any other state in the U.S. What you may not know is that if a serious earthquake occurs and there is serious damage done to your home or property it will most likely not be covered by your California homeowners insurance. Although the damage is done to your home, you will still need a separate policy that covers the damage that has been caused by an earthquake. You may add an additional policy on to your already existing homeowners policy or bundle your  policies to save you money. If you take out a whole new insurance policy it may cost more as the monthly premiums are usually considered pretty high.
